James was employed by a PR agency in early 2019 to float a whole new property into the market, Star Investing.

They had seen other content plays in the market, and wanted their own to help clients with their communication challenges — uncovering the stories that investors don’t get from their brokers.

The content took the form of audio, social video, and articles.

The focus was on general investment content to help build an audience, showcase stories which didn’t get picked up by the media, and translate what was happening in commodity markets for a general audience.

Here are just a few of the pieces James wrote (and recorded):

PODCAST: Antipa Minerals talks about its upcoming exploration campaign

One of the challenges mining companies have is translating highly technical information into plain English, so new investors can pick up on the story.

Using his talents for taking complex ideas and presenting them simply — James guided Stephen Power through why investors should be so excited by a few holes in the ground.

The rise and rise of ethical investing

Ethical investment has been one of the hot topics in investment circles in recent years, particularly with millennial investors with money burning a hole in their pocket.

Here, James looked at the phenomenon and what effect it’s having on markets more broadly.

The humble beginnings of 10 huge companies

Did you know that Walmart, destroyer of ‘Mom and Pop’ stores began life as…a mom and pop store?

Given Star Investing covered small companies, James thought it would be a great idea to cover off on the once-small companies who became huge players, and how they did it.

From research to reality — the Tali story

All companies have interesting stories to tell, it’s just a matter of uncovering them.

James did just that, talking to the key researchers behind Novita Healthcare’s Tali solution, uncovering the story investors will never get from an ASX announcement.

From Xero to archTIS: Leanne Graham’s quest for scale

Sometimes the most newsworthy part of a business is the talent within it, and that was certainly the case with Leanne Graham and archTIS.

James talked to her about her time helping to scale behemoth Xero, what she learned, and what she’s applying to archTIS.
